The Macomb County National Night Out event will take place Tuesday at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights after the event was postponed last week due to rain and wet conditions.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborly camaraderie.
The county event will involve 21 Macomb County law enforcement agencies, with representatives from their departments on site. Vehicles and special forces units will be on display at the park on Metropolitan Parkway east of Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In addition to law enforcement, nonprofits and local businesses will be on site offering community resources. There will be plunge pools.
The weather forecast for Tuesday promises sunny weather and temperatures of up to 27 degrees Celsius.
National Night Out was created in 1984 with funding from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance. The program is administered by the National Association of Town Watch, a national nonprofit organization. For more information, visit natw.org.
