Inspired by the PBS/KBPS program “Crossing South,” the 1st edition of the Crossing South Festival – Baja Wine + Food + Travel, an event that brings together the gastronomy and culture of Baja California, will take place on August 24, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Liberty Station.

The only television show of its kind to openly promote Baja California in over a decade, it is currently airing its 13th season on KPBS San Diego, with 30 episodes broadcast nationally on PBS and CreateTV.

This festival brings Baja’s culinary and cultural scene directly to Southern California markets. Featuring renowned chefs such as Marcelo Hisaki of Amores, David Alarcón of Fuego Santo and Javier Caro of La Justina Del Valle/Oja, this festival offers a dynamic culinary journey through the flavors of Baja.

Participants can enjoy perfectly prepared dishes that reflect the creativity of the chefs and their interpretation of regional classics.

In addition to culinary excellence, visitors can enjoy a diverse selection of wines and spirits from renowned wineries and distilleries, including Monte Xanic, Corona Del Valle, Cerveza Transpeninsular, Mezcal Los Javis and La María Tequila.

This celebration will also feature various artists who will play live music during the event. The goal of Crossing South Festival – Baja Wine + Food + Travel is to be a new annual platform that connects Baja California’s unique hospitality and travel experiences with Southern California.
