CT animal shelter asks public for help in finding foster homes for dogs

Every time there is a storm, I think of the stray animals out there and those who are affected when their owners’ homes are destroyed. It is a terrible situation and something I hope I never have to experience.

When major storms like this one come through, you see a lot of posts from animal shelters looking for dogs to adopt or foster while they try to figure out their situation. Many local animal shelters are at full capacity during storms and have no choice but to ask the public for help.

The same scenario occurred at one of our local animal shelters. The New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society (NFSAW) posted an urgent message looking for someone to take in a 3-year-old female dog and her 3-week-old puppies. The female dog and her 4 puppies are in desperate need of a home, but the shelter is having a problem because they currently have no room for these dogs.

An animal shelter that was affected by Tropical Storm Debby is seeking these puppies to give them a new life up north, so a foster home is currently being sought. Three-year-old puppy Rose is said to be a wonderful dog who gets along well with children, people, and other dogs. Additionally, NFSAW will provide all medical care and support while the dogs are in foster care.

If you are interested in fostering these adorable puppies, you can fill out an application on their website. I wish I had enough space to take all of the puppies and place them in loving homes. Every puppy deserves to be loved and treated like family. I hope they find homes for these adorable little ones!
