Damar Hamlin records the first interception of his career

Damar Hamlin, the Bills safety who inspired America with his perseverance after suffering cardiac arrest on the field during Monday Night Football on Jan. 2, 2023, is having a memorable Monday night tonight in Buffalo for positive reasons.

Hamlin intercepted a pass from Trevor Lawrence in the second quarter tonight, which was Hamlin’s first interception of his NFL career. It led to a Bills touchdown that gave them a 27-3 lead over the Jaguars.

And it was also another reminder of what a great comeback Hamlin made after that dark night in Cincinnati when a game was canceled and the football world feared he wouldn’t survive. Not only did Hamlin survive, not only did he get back in the game, he continued to improve and earn a starting spot this season, and now he has his first interception.

In the meantime, Hamlin continues to raise awareness about the importance of CPR training and the availability of AED devices at sporting events, not just at the professional level, but everywhere. Hamlin has made an impact by becoming a spokesperson for a cause he never wanted to be associated with.

Hamlin has made a big impression off the field and tonight he’s making an impression on it too.
