Yesterday, it was noted that Odyssey Jones, despite being part of a storyline with The New Day, was removed from the WWE roster, but his release was not announced. Given the situation, Dave Meltzer shared his own speculation after doing some research on Jones’ status on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer said he initially asked if it could have been a glitch but received no response. He pointed out that WWE has since issued a statement on the matter. “I’m fairly certain he’s done, but it hasn’t been confirmed anywhere. I’ve heard a lot of stories, but nothing that I would call confirmed, but it looks like he’s no longer with the company,” he said. He also pointed out that Jones was absolutely not mentioned on “WWE Raw,” even though Kofi Kingston appeared on the show.

Meltzer then speculated that the reason for Jones’ departure will most likely come out. “It had nothing to do with how he was doing, because he was doing really well, but there’s obviously a story that will probably come out in the next few days or so, I would guess, I don’t know,” he explained. Meltzer, however, noted that he has heard a lot of rumors since Monday, but pointed out that he cannot confirm any of what he has heard at this point.
