Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports and self-proclaimed “Swiftie,” said Wednesday that while Taylor Swift’s support for Vice President Kamala Harris does not change his mind about the pop star, he intends to “vote differently.”
“As the king of Swifties, people ask me what I think about their support for Kamala. I don’t care at all. People can vote for whoever they want in this country. How someone votes will never change my opinion of a person,” Portnoy posted on X. “I vote differently, but to each their own.”
Swift endorsed Harris for president just minutes after the Democratic candidate left the stage. Presidential debate against her Republican opponent Donald Trump. On Instagram, the singer wrote that she would vote for Harris because “she fights for the rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to represent them.”

“I did my research and made my choice. Your research is entirely yours and the choice is yours. I also want to say, especially to first-time voters: remember you must be registered to vote!” Swift wrote to her 283 million followers. “I also find it much easier to vote early. I will post a link to registration and early voting dates and information on my story.”

Earlier this week, Portnoy revealed on Fox Business that he plans to vote for former President Trump after host Stewart Varney said he seemed like a “Trump guy.”
“Yes, I’m voting for Trump. I don’t know if I would call myself a Trump supporter. If I thought there was a better candidate, I’d be open to it,” Portnoy said. “I wouldn’t have voted for him in the Republican primaries, but now I’m voting for him.”
In a phone call with “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday morning, Trump shrugged off Swift’s support of his opponent, saying her support for Harris did not surprise him and that it was “only a matter of time.”

“She couldn’t possibly support Biden. When you look at Biden, you can’t possibly support him,” Trump said, making it clear that he was “not a Taylor Swift fan.”
“But she’s a very liberal person. She always seems to support a Democrat,” he added. “And she’ll probably pay a price for that (…) in the market.”
