David Henrie recently gave insights into the creation of the new Wizards of Waverly Place Restart, titled, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Speaking of The Red Carpet, Henrie revealed how he and his co-star Selena Gomez developed the show.

He said: “Selena and I meet quite often, and when I got married, it was just her, my wife and I sitting around talking about what the characters were going to do.”

“And after a few years we thought, ‘I think we have a show,'” Henrie added.

Both Henrie and Gomez also serve as executive producers, ensuring that the new series maintains the core of the original.

While we are talking about the original series, Wizards of Waverly Place, Henrie said: “Part of the magic of the show was what happened behind the camera and behind the camera we really were like a family. So there wasn’t really that pressure because we supported each other.”

The actor noted that fans often said the original series was like family to them, which influenced their approach to the reboot.

“These are the wonderful, family themes of the original show that we wanted to bring to a whole new audience,” he said.
