Davidson County Airport undergoes upgrades and improvements — DavidsonLocal.com

At Davidson County Airport, construction has begun on the first 10,000 square foot hangar, and construction of two additional 10,000 square foot corporate hangars is being considered. All three hangars are scheduled for completion in December 2024.

Here is a list of other planned upgrades and improvements:

  • Development of the hangar site – construction of the 4,645 m² maintenance hangar is scheduled to begin in late fall/early winter.

  • Airfield surface rehabilitation – This project is largely completed.

  • Rehabilitation of drainage – This project is largely completed.

  • Airfield lighting refurbishment – We are working on reviewing scope and fees to commence the design phase. Design is expected to commence in the coming months with construction following thereafter (subject to construction funding).

  • AWOS Relocation – The AWOS will be relocated to co-locate with the glide path. We are currently working with the state to review the scope and fees. Planning is expected to begin in the coming months with construction to follow.

  • Removal of obstructions outside the airport – We are working with the state to obtain additional funding for the construction work. Obstruction removal is expected to begin in the fall/winter.

  • The airport is in the process of ordering and installing cameras for Gate 6.
