DeKALB – The DeKalb County Community Gardens is hosting a “Dinner for Food” event to support the organization that provides food to those in need throughout the county.

The event will be held on September 6th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the DeKalb County Community Gardens warehouse, 2280 Bethany Road, DeKalb.

“I have always enjoyed the Thanksgiving dinner hosted by DCCG, and Dinner for Food allows for that same experience while showcasing the work the organization does behind the scenes,” said Lynn Herrmann, board member and committee chair of DeKalb County Community Gardens, in a press release. “It’s a great opportunity to see DCCG’s work up close and enjoy a delicious meal.”

Attendees can tour the garden and learn about the organization’s work to feed the community. Appetizers, dinner and music will also be provided. Dinner will be prepared by Josh Koroscik, a chef at Wild Carrot Cooking Co., the press release said.

“DCCG plays a critical role in ensuring no one goes hungry,” said Heather Edwards, executive director of DeKalb County Community Gardens, in the press release. “With the high cost of living and groceries, our neighbors are in need of healthy food now more than ever. This fundraiser is very important to ensure DCCG remains at the forefront of ending food insecurity in DeKalb County.”

Tickets are $75. To purchase tickets, visit oneseedoneplant.com/t/dinner-for-good.
