Demi Lovato apologizes to Alyson Stoner for letting fame go to her head between the ‘Camp Rock’ movies

“I look back on that time and I’m deeply sad,” Lovato said, “because I ask myself, ‘How many people have I mistreated?'”

Demi Lovato regrets her bad behavior on the set of Camp Rock 2: The Last Jam.

In the new documentation Child starthe singer of “Heart Attack”, who uses the pronouns she/her, sat down with her Camp Rock co-star Alyson Stoner, who uses the pronouns they/them. During their conversation, the two actors discussed how their attitudes changed between the first and second Camp Rock Films released on Disney Channel in 2008 and 2010.

“I felt more equal than I Camp Rockbecause the first one we were all at the Grand (Hotel),” Lovato said. “Okay, memories are coming back! I know we had a lot of dinners with the cast at the restaurant,” Stoner added.

After Lovato started a successful music career and starred in the series Sonny with a chanceher star surpassed that of many of her peers. “Then my career exploded and suddenly I was living at the Four Seasons,” they said. “There was definitely a power dynamic and a shift, when the second film came along, it felt really validated because I had moved up, but I was trading relationships for success.”

Stoner recalled feeling distanced from Lovato during The last jam. “I remember it was so difficult to get in touch with you in this way,” they said. “It was as if we had lost that bond of trust, that closeness. It seemed as if you didn’t want to reach out to us at that time either. So the last few years of our collaboration were a real challenge.”

At this point in their conversation, Stoner and Lovato both became teary-eyed. “The treatment felt drastically different,” Stoner said, preparing to broach the delicate subject of Lovato’s difficult behavior. “My heart is racing. I remember feeling like I was walking on eggshells (around you), and so the fear of an outburst was definitely high.”

Lovato acknowledged it was a particularly intense time in her career, but also took responsibility for her actions. “I know we both had our own issues, but that was still no excuse for me to treat anyone poorly, and so I want to sincerely and deeply apologize for any stress or ‘walking on eggshells’ or any hurt feelings,” they said. “I am truly so sorry for that. And when I look back on that time, I am deeply saddened because I ask myself, ‘How many people did I treat poorly?'”

Lovato also noted that they had difficulty remembering the time The last jamThis happened shortly before they were admitted to rehab in November 2010.”bearing rocks, I remember much more than I Camp Rock 2,” Lovato said.

Stoner agreed that they find it hard to remember certain phases of their youthful fame: “There were whole projects where it was like, ‘Oh, The Film.'” Lovato then put forward the theory: “Dissociation. It’s like a common thread between all of us,” which Stoner confirmed: “All of us.”

Stoner, who also appeared in the Cheaper by the dozen And Increase Films, said their intense professionalism as a child led to increased dissociation. “I know I started dancing when I was about 3 years old and immediately treated it like work,” they explained. “I think I was kind of dissociated the whole time. On the outside, you look like everything is fine. And then, years later, you can’t remember anything.”
