Deputy: Man shot and then driven to a hardware store in WA

Officials are currently investigating after a man was found shot to death in a hardware store in Chelan County on Saturday.

Authorities were called for a report of a person with gunshot wounds at the Plain Hardware Store in Plain, Washington, southeast of Lake Wenatchee.

When they arrived, they encountered a 55-year-old man who appeared to have a single gunshot wound to both legs.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man suffered the gunshot wound and was then driven to the hardware store by a woman.

Neither the victim nor the woman gave officers any information about the incident. Authorities are still trying to determine where the shooting occurred, what led up to it and why the victim was taken to the hardware store rather than the hospital.

An ambulance arrived on the scene and took the man to Central Washington Hospital.
