New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr was upset after the narrow 15-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

At the same time, he also acknowledged that the Saints would be facing an Eagles team that has won a total of 25 regular season games over the past two years.

“You’re mad because you lost. It makes you angry,” Carr said, according to ESPN’s Katherine Terrell. “You want to win all these games. But at the end of the day, we played against a really good football team.”

After the Saints scored at least 44 points in each of their first two games of the season, their offense didn’t really get going on Sunday. New Orleans was only able to gain 219 yards and one touchdown against Philadelphia.

Carr finished the game completing 14 of 25 passes for 142 yards and one touchdown and one interception. His turnover was particularly costly, as it was intercepted as the Saints tried to tie the game with just a minute left in the fourth quarter.

The Saints led 12-7 with about two minutes left in the game, but New Orleans’ defense allowed a crucial touchdown by Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.

Carr is still off to a strong start in his second season with the organization, completing 68.8 percent of his throws for 585 yards through three games. He has also recorded six touchdown passes compared to two interceptions.

Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak’s unit will look to regroup and fight back in the team’s next contest, a game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4.
