TINLEY PARK, IL — A new retailer of active, outdoor and lifestyle brands is looking to expand its presence in Illinois with the opening of a new location in Tinley Park.

Sierra, a multichannel off-price retailer of sports and outdoor brands, will open Saturday, August 24, in Tinley Park, 7360 191st St. in the Brookside Marketplace. The 16,000-square-foot store will be the eighth location in the state and sixth in the Chicago area.

As part of the TJ Maxx family of brands, Sierra is considered the retailer where you can find great deals on top sports and outdoor brands for the whole family at incredible prices, the company said in a press release. The assortment includes a wide selection of clothing, shoes and equipment offered at up to 60 percent off department and specialty store prices.

“Sierra is a one-stop shop for everything you didn’t even know you needed to stay active year-round,” the company said.

Sierra will open its doors to the local community at 8:00 a.m. on August 24th with a grand opening celebration, including music from a local DJ, lucky ticket raffles, Sierra-branded giveaways and more! Tinley Park residents can shop for essential apparel, footwear, gear and home decor at Sierra. Founded in 1986, Sierra has 103 stores in 30 states.

To celebrate his arrival in the Tinley Park community, Sierra has donated $10,000 to the nonprofit Crisis Center for South Suburbia. The donation will support the organization’s domestic violence prevention mission, from housing, counseling, advocacy, education and prevention programs to creating social justice for survivors and implementing systemic change throughout the community so they can fully enjoy their legal and social rights.
