Discounter reopens at former Walmart site in Bristol

At the former Walmart in Bristol Park on Commerce Circle in the Bristol district, everything old is new again.

Discount retailer Total Liquidators is planning a comeback at the former Walmart location. The company announced Friday that it will return to the 118,000-square-foot store in September.

“The retail space will be bigger and better than ever, with at least three times as many clothing departments,” the retailer posted on Facebook.

Total Liquidators previously operated at the site from October 2020 to December 2022 before closing.

In 2023, the space was briefly occupied by RideNow, a dealership specializing in new and used motorcycles, ATVs, and personal watercraft. RideNow closed its doors in January of this year.

The building, which originally housed a Walmart until its closure in late 2017, has had various tenants over the years.

After Walmart left, the mall’s owner, Brixmor, leased the space to a flea market before Total Liquidators moved in.

Total Liquidators currently operates several locations in the region, including Bensalem Township, Warminster Township, Richland Township and Montgomery County.

The mall recently lost its Fine Wine and Good Spirits store, but gained a new Planet Fitness this spring.

In recent years, Brixmor had considered turning the site into a fulfillment center, according to marketing materials outlining potential developments. The proposals included opening three restaurants in the mall and demolishing a nearby store to make room for loading docks.
