Disgraced Hollywood icon says he can’t afford gas and has to sell his truck

Disgraced Hollywood star Armie Hammer has fallen on hard times. He can’t even afford gas, so he sells his beloved truck.

The actor has moved back to his old hometown of Los Angeles. But he can’t afford the high gas prices in California. So the Hollywood icon has his truck dropped off at Carmax.

“I’ve been back in LA for a few weeks now. This is my truck. I bought it as a Christmas present in 2017 because I’ve had pickup trucks for a long time and I love this truck very much,” he said of his pickup truck.

Hammer stressed that he would not promote Carmax in a commercial. “This is not an advertisement for Carmax,” he clarified. “That’s because I’m selling my truck.”

The Hollywood icon complained about the price of gas, saying he simply couldn’t afford the high cost. “I’ve put about four or five hundred dollars worth of gas in my tank since I got back to LA, and I can’t afford it anymore. I can’t afford the gas anymore,” he said.

Hollywood icon fell from grace

Hammer was deposed in 2021. Allegations of sexual assault, physical abuse and even cannibalistic fantasies caused his career to plummet. Now the actor has not found work in his former profession. The Hollywood icon is messing up like an average person.

For Hammer, the truck has sentimental value. He said he has “taken it camping and across the country and on long road trips several times.” He even used the truck to bring his children home from the hospital.

“But you know what? That’s OK,” he said. “That’s OK. I have a new car. It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’ll probably spend about $10 a month on gas on it and that’s it.”

He added: “So I have to clean out all this stuff, you know, all kinds of things. But that’s okay.”

This, said Hammer, marks the beginning of a new phase in his life.

“I’m going to start my birthday in a new car, a new apartment and a new life in Los Angeles,” he said in the video. His children may not be happy with the sale, but Hammer is also looking forward to spending less on gas. “Parking will be easier and gas will be cheaper.”
