An incredibly underrated fighting game, DNF duelis currently available for free on the Epic Games Store. It doesn’t have many players yet, but I still think it’s worth playing.

It is actually published by Arc System Works, the makers of Guilty equipmentso of course it has an amazing anime art style with a deep battle system. I like ArcSys games so I bought it when it came out in 2022 and absolutely loved it.

One of the main mechanics of the game is the ability to use simple directional inputs for movement – ​​think Super Smash Bros. However, if you prefer traditional fighting game controls, these are available as well and will even reward you with more damage. It’s an input style that has become increasingly popular in recent years and has expanded across a number of different fighting games, including Street Fighter 6.

We here at Destructoid thought it was an easy-to-learn but hard-to-master fighting game, but were worried about its longevity. And while its online servers aren’t currently overpopulated, it still has a niche community and had a community tournament at EVO 2024.
