Dolphins place Odell Beckham Jr. on PUP list for start of 2024 season

The Miami Dolphins will place wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on the physically unable to perform list at the start of the 2024 season, Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported.

Beckham will miss at least the first four games of the Dolphins’ 2024 season, including matchups against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans. If the schedule goes according to plan, Beckham will return for the game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, October 6.

This decision comes after the Dolphins also placed Beckham on the PUP list to begin training camp in July. At the time, it was reported that the Dolphins wanted to “slowly ease him back into football” as he was “working through minor things” but had no major injuries.

Rapoport added Tuesday that the Dolphins had planned for this when they signed him in May due to a procedure he had in the offseason. The reason for the procedure is unknown.

Although Beckham missed the entire 2022 season due to a torn ACL, he played 14 regular season games for the Baltimore Ravens last season, catching 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
