Domestic violence, drug sales, broken windshield: Stony Point Police

STONY POINT, NY – Stony Point Police report three recent arrests.

August 18: At 5:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported to police that her boyfriend, Diego Diaz-Sandoval, hit her in the face several times with his cellphone during an argument, causing swelling and bruising to her nose and left eye. She said he also took her cellphone and threw it so she couldn’t call police for help. The 28-year-old Harrison, New Jersey resident was arrested, charged with assault and criminal damage, arraigned and released on bond. His court date is September 15.

August 14: At 12:40 p.m., a man was observed by a Stony Point police officer exchanging cocaine for money from a man (who was charged separately) near the Stony Point Budget Motor Inn. Police said Omar Rodriguez, 42, was carrying five Ziploc plastic bags of cocaine and a large sum of U.S. dollars. The Garnerville resident was charged with unlawful sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Stony Point Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail without bail. He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

August 11: Police were dispatched at 4:40 a.m. to a report of a disturbance outside a Stony Point residence. A man told officers that Nosson Mandel intentionally damaged the windshield of his vehicle during an argument. The 25-year-old from Stony Point was arrested, charged with third-degree criminal damage to property and released on a summons that must be returned on August 27.
