Donald Trump called the “black Nazi pervert” Mark Robinson better than MLK

Donald Trump called self-proclaimed “black Nazi” Mark Robinson “better than Martin Luther King” when he nominated him as the next governor of North Carolina. Trump appeared at Robinson’s rally in March and praised the lieutenant governor while standing next to him on stage.

“This is Martin Luther King on steroids,” the former president said. “I told Mark that. I said, ‘I think you’re better than Martin Luther King. I think you’re Martin Luther King times two.'”

These comments are just one example of the former president’s praise for Robinson. The Harris campaign posted more on social media, including another moment at a rally where Trump called Robinson “one of the hottest politicians in the United States.”

A report published Thursday revealed that Robinson had allegedly posted on a forum called “Nude Africa” about his pro-slavery views and love of transgender porn. In posts dating back to the 2000s, Robinson reportedly wrote that “slavery is not bad” and referred to himself as a “pervert.”

“I am not surprised by Mark Robinson’s allegedly inflammatory and offensive comments about my father,” Marin Luther King III wrote on X. “His praise of slavery, his derogatory rhetoric, and his grotesque characterization of my father and his legacy are of great concern to the people of North Carolina and all Americans who stand against racism and bigotry.”

He added: “We must work to ensure that Mark Robinson does not even come close to the governorship.”

According to CNN, the Trump team declined to confirm Thursday whether Robinson would drop out of the race for the state’s governorship.

Robinson, 56, has denied writing the posts, calling them “offensive tabloid lies” that are “not typical of me.” But this is not the first time Robinson’s alleged history of extremely racist and homophobic comments has damaged his political ambitions.

Robinson, a pastor married for over 30 years, has faced criticism for his comments about Jews, Muslims, women and the LGBTQ+ community. He also stated that he would make it a priority to keep transgender people out of women’s restrooms if he wins the governor’s seat in November.

“If you’re a man on Friday night and suddenly on Saturday you feel like a woman and want to go to the ladies’ room at the mall, you’re going to get arrested,” Robinson said during a campaign rally in February. “Or whatever we have to do to you. We have to protect our women.”

Five men who frequented and managed porn shops in the Tar Heel State said Robinson was a regular customer who bought “hundreds” of pirated porn almost every day of the week in the 1990s and 2000s.

Shortly after the attack on Israel on October 7 last year, Robinson sought to distance himself from his previous social media posts in which he had called the Holocaust “nonsense.”

“There were some Facebook posts that were poorly worded on my part,” Robinson told the state parliament. He added: “There is no anti-Semitism in front of you here.”

Despite growing allegations of racism, homophobia and anti-Semitism, Robinson has so far refused to drop out of the race for governor of North Carolina, a key state in the 2024 presidential election.
