Driver caught on video vandalizing a fire station in southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Portland Fire & Rescue says a driver is being sought after he was caught on camera damaging a fire station early Sunday morning.

On August 18, at approximately 1:46 a.m., the driver of a white Ford F150 pickup truck (model year 1997-2003) vandalized Fire Station 25 at 5211 Southeast Mall Street, which serves the Mt. Scott-Arleta and Woodstock neighborhoods.

A security camera across the street captured the suspect driving over the curb and onto the lawn while honking his horn for a long time. The suspect backed onto the street and then returned to the station driveway, striking the garage door and damaging it. The suspect then drove over the lawn again and struck the flagpole.

PF&R says emergency repairs were made to restore the garage door to full functionality.

Investigators believe the pickup truck may have damage to the front passenger side and the passenger side of the vehicle from striking the door and flagpole. There may also be mud on the sides of the body, tires and wheels from damage to the lawn.

Anyone who recognizes the pickup should contact Lt. Jason Andersen at 503-823-3787 or via email at [email protected]. If you know the current location of the pickup, please call 911 to report it.
