The Philadelphia Eagles have officially announced the list of inactive players for their Week 1 game of the 2024 NFL season against the Green Bay Packers.
The following Eagles players will NOT PLAY: Devin White, Isaiah Rodgers, Tanner McKee, Darian Kinnard, Trevor Keegan, Byron Young and Jalyx Hunt.
White suffered an ankle injury during practice earlier this week and did not travel with the team to Brazil. The Eagles are expected to start Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean at linebacker. It will be interesting to see if Oren Burks, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Ben VanSumeren are in the mix.
Rodgers was ruled out on Thursday’s latest injury report after being limited in practice all week with a hand injury. It looks like the Eagles will start Darius Slay and Quinyon Mitchell on the outside, with Mitchell moving inside to play the slot in nickel packages… and Kelee Ringo coming in to play the perimeter. It’s also possible Mitchell stays outside and Avonte Maddox comes in as the nickel cornerback. We’ll see.
According to the NFL’s third quarterback rule, McKee is only allowed to play if both Jalen Hurts and Kenny Pickett leave the game due to injury.
Kinnard and Keegan have been dropped from the roster, with eight other offensive linemen still active ahead of them.
Young is the sixth defensive tackle out due to injury. He only joined the squad a little over a week ago.
Hunt is the sixth edge rusher out due to injury. Hunt looked more advanced than expected in training camp, but Patrick Johnson has already proven himself at this point. Hunt also missed some practice due to an oblique abdominal muscle injury, but was not on the injured list this week.
Nick Gates and EJ Jenkins are both apparently active after being temporarily elevated from the practice squad, with Jenkins playing in his first NFL regular season game.

The Packers listed three players as questionable in their last injury report: RB MarShawn Lloyd, RB Emanuel Wilson and TE Tucker Kraft.
Wilson and Kraft are both active.
Lloyd, who was considered the best replacement for Josh Jacobs, is out.
