After a sloppy start marked by penalties and turnovers, the Eagles and Packers put on a fireworks display in Brazil, but it was Saquon Barkley who stole the show in the Eagles’ 34-29 victory. The former Giants running back signed a three-year, $37.5 million contract in the offseason that is paying off after just one game.

Barkley tied an Eagles record with three touchdowns in his debut – a mark set by Terrell Owens in his first game for Philadelphia in 2004. He managed 24 carries for 109 yards with two rushing touchdowns and had two receptions for 23 yards and a receiving touchdown.

Jordan Love completed 17 of 34 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns for Green Bay, but was ejected from the game and had to be carted to the sideline with five seconds left as the Packers sought a desperate win. Malik Willis came in and threw an incomplete pass and was then sacked by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun, ending the game.

  • Love goes under for Green Bay

Jordan Love awkwardly rolled to the ground as the Packers tried to get in position for a Hail Mary. The Eagles got to the 1-yard line when the drive stalled, giving the Packers 27 seconds

  • Hurts delivers another pass to Smith for a big first down

Philly broke the trend when the clock stopped and the Packers had a timeout and a two-minute warning, throwing the ball and picking up a first down inside the 10-yard line. The Eagles were able to run out most of the remaining time while Green Bay was only able to stop the clock once more.

  • Decisive first attempt at a connection from Hurts to Smith

With 2:15 left, Green Bay began taking timeouts when Philadelphia was at the 18-yard line. The Eagles’ drive has now covered 53 yards in 11 plays and taken 5:42 off the clock.

  • Green Bay continues to be plagued by penalties

Green Bay was penalized for holding twice on this drive, and both times they resulted in automatic first downs when the Eagles were behind the chain. Green Bay has now been flagged 10 times for 71 yards as the clock ticks under 4:00.

  • LeBron James enjoys the show

  • Barkley over 100 yards

Philly relies on its new leader late in the game, with Saquon Barkley running the posts, having accumulated 103 yards on 19 carries as the clock ticks down to five minutes remaining.

  • Narveson scores from 26 meters and reduces the lead to two

Brayden Narveson made up for the missed field goal and reduced the deficit to 31-29. There are less than eight minutes left in the game and Green Bay will likely get the ball again. Can Philadelphia protect the ball enough to decide the game, or will Jordan Love and Co. go for the win again? Either way, Brazilian fans are in for a treat on the NFL’s first visit to South America.

  • Barkley joins the Eagles elite with his three-TD game

  • Another great success for Jayden Reed

3rd and 5 and Love finds Reed with a deep crosser for 26 yards, and the Packers are just outside the red zone. Reed has now received 105 yards for the night

  • Josh Jacobs pulls off another big

  • Jaire Alexander makes a great play and intercepts Jalen Hurts in the end zone

Alexander may have just kept Green Bay in the game by throwing the Packers’ second interception of the night. Philadelphia is still ahead and has had great performances from Saquon Barkley and AJ Brown, but the three turnovers have stalled the offense at key moments in the game.

  • Saquon Barkley leads the Eagles into the fourth quarter

After the missed field goal, Barkley ran 34 yards to get the ball into Packers territory and add to his high stats. He has three touchdowns through three quarters and now has 94 yards on 16 carries. Last season with the Giants, Barkley topped the 94-yard mark only once – a 128-yard rushing performance on 36 carries in a loss to the Jets.

  • Another punt!
