Emergency training for natural gas disasters in Willingboro

WILLINGBORO, NJ—The Willingboro Township Police Department has announced a gas safety drill at the John F. Kennedy Center in Willingboro next Tuesday. The event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is a joint effort between PSE&G and local first responders from Willingboro and Burlington County.

This exercise will simulate a gas emergency to test and refine incident command and evacuation protocols. The goal is to improve preparedness and ensure community safety. Participants will conduct the training in the rear parking lot of the center.

Residents are reminded to call 811 before any excavation work to locate underground utilities and to evacuate the area immediately. If they smell gas, call 911 and PSE&G at 1-800-880-PSEG (7734).

  • The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reports several incidents

    STAFFORD, VA— The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office released its daily incident report yesterday, detailing several criminal and traffic-related incidents.

    Around noon, a burglary was reported on Lakeview Drive. Deputy CD Sullivan responded to the scene where a broken door and spray-painted walls were found inside the home. No further details about the documents or suspects were released.

    At 6:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a drunk driver at the Mountains View Market on Mountain View Road. Deputy RL Hubbard and Deputy VR Weadon observed a green truck pulling out of his lane. The driver was showing signs of intoxication, had an open beer in the vehicle, and did not have a driver’s license. He was arrested and is being held without bail at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

    Later, at 11:00 p.m., Deputy S. Waheed investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in a fire driveway on Fulton Drive. The driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, admitted to drinking prior to driving and was detained at the same facility until he sobered up.

    In another incident at the Public Safety Building, Assistant District Attorney Robertson met with a fraud victim who reported unauthorized withdrawals from his bank account after being deceived by a fake call from a security company.

    Finally, at 8:04 p.m., Deputy KF Bierfeldt responded to a disturbance at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Hospital Center Boulevard. An obviously intoxicated man was caught yelling at people and arrested for public intoxication. He was also held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until he sobered up.

  • Maryland police officer delivers pizza after delivery driver crashes

    Joppa, MD – Deputy Kyle Burns of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office performed exceptional community service last Saturday night in Joppa.

    After being called to an accident involving a local pizza delivery driver, Deputy Burns made sure the driver was uninjured and then took on the task of delivering the pizzas to their intended recipients despite the rainy weather.

    The recipient of the pizzas expressed his gratitude, saying, “I was so pleasantly surprised by all of this and felt so lucky to live in an area where people still do good things. I thanked Deputy Burns for his thoughtfulness. God bless our Sheriff’s Department.”

    The Harford County Sheriff’s Office commended Deputy Burns for his dedication and care to the community and highlighted this act of kindness as a testament to his commitment to duty.
