Samsung Food+, the premium subscription service3 by Samsung Food enhances the experience by integrating a health profile and goals and providing personalized meal plans with recipe recommendations. And now AI is being added to provide differentiated features for users around the world.

Samsung is making meal prep more convenient by introducing Vision AI technology for Samsung Food+, which allows users to add items to their meal list by simply taking a photo of their food with a smartphone. This feature means that users who own customized refrigerators with a Family Hub™ screen can4 without AI Vision Inside – the internal camera that detects food being put in or taken out of the fridge – can now easily add items with photos to their grocery list.

Other benefits of the Samsung Food+ subscription service include automatically adding purchased ingredients to the grocery list when users pay in-store or online, and finding recipes based on the contents of the grocery list. Users can also receive alerts to help them use up items before the manually set expiration date, reducing food waste.

Samsung Food+ also offers meal plans based on users’ grocery lists to support sustainable eating goals by personalizing each plan based on the ingredients in users’ grocery lists and prioritizing those that are nearing their expiration date. And with the new “Search with your grocery list” feature, recipes using the ingredients listed in their grocery lists will appear at the top of search results to give users ideas of what to make with what they have. Recipe recommendations are also provided based on the grocery list. And whatever was used from the grocery list will be recommended to add to the shopping list.
