The 12th annual Music for Hope concert will feature a variety of music. The event is a fundraiser for Hope Station and begins at 7 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church.

Organizers say the concert has become a meaningful tradition that members of the music community look forward to each year.

Musicians in the approximately 75-minute concert include Carmen Parker, vocalist; Chris Bridges, minister of music at Forest Hills Baptist Church; Zackery Ross, organist; David Scott, alto saxophone; Elizabeth Winstead, owner of The Singers Studio and vocalist; Caleb Skinner, music director at West Nash United Methodist Church; Sherry Lee Allen, director of the theater at Barton; Hannah Slaughter, vocalist; Matthew Young, Cindy Darden, Casey Childers and Greg Dixon, pianists; and Jack Fisher and Robby Boyette, clarinet.

The show features a varied musical program, including a rousing rendition of “Frankenstein,” a piano and organ duet of “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “The Prayer” by David Foster, a spirited piano duet on the theme of “The Inspector Gadget,” “Let It Be” by the Beatles and “Young Love” by Elton John.

The program concludes with a mass choir singing “Draw the Circle Wide” by Mark Miller, which contains the key phrase for this program: “Let this be our song. No one stands alone.”

A voluntary donation is accepted to support Hope Station’s ongoing programs to alleviate homelessness and hunger in Wilson. Last year $4,390 was raised.
