Everything you need to know

Returning for its second year, the Del Mar Wine + Food Festival is once again making a splash on San Diego’s food scene. Check out some of the area’s best restaurants and wines, including both new and familiar faces to the festival. Check out our list or the DMWFF website to learn all about this quintessentially San Diego event.

When is the Del Mar Wine + Food Festival?

The Del Mar Wine + Food Festival will be held October 2-7, 2024, with the grand tasting taking place on October 5 and 6. Doors open for VIP ticket holders and early admission at noon, with general admission beginning at 1 p.m.

Where does the festival take place?

The event will be held at Surf Sports Park, formerly Del Mar Polo Fields, 14989 Via de la Valle, Del Mar, CA 92014.

What different ticket options are there?

General admission

General admission day passes are $165, while a two-day pass is $265. Both options entitle you to unlimited food and drink from the festival’s offerings during the grand tasting.

Early general admission

Get there before everyone else and still take advantage of the wide selection offered with early bird tickets. For $225 for one-day tickets and $375 for two-day tickets, you’ll have an extra hour to get on the grounds first and look around before the crowds arrive.

VIP tickets

VIP tickets cost $425 for a one-day pass and $775 for a two-day pass and offer access to a special VIP area and a wider selection of food and drinks. More details on the VIP experience will be announced closer to the festival date.

What food stalls will be there?

With a variety of vendors and tasting opportunities, many of San Diego’s top restaurants will be represented at this event including Civico 1845, Deckman’s Restaurant Group, Finca, Jolie, Kingfisher, Little Frenchie, Lola 55, the Marine Room, Marisi, Nolita Hall, Rosemarie’s Burgers, Tacos 1986 and many more. What VIP experiences can I purchase?

There are 12 VIP experiences available for purchase that are independent of the Grand Tasting. Tickets for these events range from $125 to $600.

Are the same food vendors and wineries available on both days?

Most food vendors and wineries will be present at the Grand Tasting both days, but we recommend checking the event schedule online for more information on vendor schedules.

Will I see celebrities at the event?

Of course! The DMWFF is hosted by Food Network and San Diego MagazineTroy Johnson (Diners, drive-ins and pubs; Food games for men). Returning to DMWFF are Alex Morgan of Wave FC, former professional football player Drew Brees and professional surfer Rob Machado. Celebrity chefs such as Aaron May, Benito Molina, Catherine McCord Claudette Zepeda, Claudia Sandoval, Javier Plascencia and many more will appear at events throughout the festival. Other guests include Kyle Cooke of Bravos Garden houseas well as It’s always sunny in Philadelphiaby Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day.

Are children and pets allowed?

Since this is a 21+ event, children and pets, with the exception of service animals, are not permitted.

Is there a dress code?

Although there is no formal dress code, it’s recommended to show off, since it’s Del Mar and all. But you don’t have to worry about getting tuna crudo on your best shirt. Semi-casual attire is also welcome.

Where can I park?

The Surf Sports Park offers ample parking for $20/day. Hiring drivers who do not wish to drink alcohol or using rideshare services is highly recommended. Public transportation is also available in the area.

What public transport is available?

Bus line 308 drops off passengers at Via de la Valle and Caminito Porta Delgada. If that’s still too far for you, the COASTER commuter train on line 308 meets passengers at the Solana Beach stop.

What hotels are nearby?

If you want to invest in an overnight stay for the Del Mar Wine + Food Festival, you can find hotels near Surf Sports Park such as the San Diego Marriott Del Mar, the Residence Inn Del Mar and the Residence Inn La Jolla.

Will there be live music?

Yes! Further information about live music and DJs will be published on the festival website and social media.

What cause does Del Mar Wine + Food Festival tickets support?

The Del Mar Wine + Food Festival has once again chosen to partner with Feeding San Diego, an organization focused on food distribution and hunger relief in the San Diego area, and portions of ticket sales and proceeds will be donated to the organization.

When is the last day to purchase tickets?

Tickets will go on sale on the day of the event, provided they are not sold out at that time. However, that doesn’t mean you should wait until then. Make sure you get your tickets in advance to avoid missing out on this event.
