Exclusive interview: Sebastian Maniscalco extends “It Ain’t Right” tour

Exclusive interview: Sebastian Maniscalco extends “It Ain’t Right” tour

Listen, pious Sunday sauce (ahem, sauce) lovers, “old-school Italians” and stand-up comedy fans.

Sebastian Maniscalco just announced that he is extending his ongoing “It Ain’t Right” tour through 2025, with new dates in arenas across North America.

On the second leg of his nationwide tour, the 51-year-old comedian will perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 7, the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on March 8 and the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York on March 15.

This year, he is scheduled to play five (!) consecutive shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City from September 18-22 – giving him the title for most consecutive performances at the venue. And the most shows ever performed by a comedian – and then perform at MVP Arena in Albany on October 3, Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on November 15, KeyBank Center in Buffalo on November 16 and OnCenter in Syracuse on November 17.

“The production is very different from what we’ve seen from me in the past,” Maniscalco told the New York Post in an exclusive interview about the tour. “I decided to redesign the stage and lower it in case I want to go in and come back. It’s a more intimate environment for me as an artist.”

In all of her shows, Maniscalco highlights the absurdities of modern life, such as nonexistent manners, rising prices, and the chaos that comes from spending every waking moment on social media.

“People crave comedy and thirst for it, especially now with a political campaign coming up and people so divided,” he added. “My comedy is rooted in family and observation, and I’ve always felt that when people come to a comedy show, they want to escape from world news, murders, politics – this, that and the other. I’m proud of that.”

It Ain’t Right’s shows will also touch on pop culture (unusual for the comedian) and the content is guaranteed to resonate – whether you’re Italian or not.

“I once did a piece about going to an Italian wedding with cash, and when I was in the editing room, I thought, ‘I don’t know if I want to keep this in the special because I’m not sure if the wider audience“But I learned from online comments that it resonated with people who came from Greek families or other cultures. From then on, I realized that I could speak to the masses about my personal life, my Italian father from Sicily, and my culture.”
