Terry Belk’s wife, Sandra, died in 2012 after a years-long battle with breast cancer. To add to his burden, Belk himself was diagnosed with prostate cancer that same year.

He agreed to a so-called escrow agreement that would give Atrium Health, the nonprofit hospital that treated him and his wife, about $23,000 if he sold his home. But that wasn’t enough, and the hospital sued Belk in 2022 for the roughly $6,000 he still owed for treatment of his prostate cancer.

Donald Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, said on Sunday on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that he does not like the comments made by Trump ally Laura Loomer about Vice President Kamala Harris.

Vance, whose wife is an Indian-American, said he does not search the internet for every little thing that might upset him. But he disagreed with Loomer, who posted on social media that the White House would “smell like curry” and speeches would be “delivered through a call center” if Harris wins the election.

Loomer’s post sparked widespread criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike. Trump’s allies expressed concerns about Trump’s continued connection with Loomerwho was seen at his side during the election campaign.

“What Laura said about Kamala Harris is not what we should be focusing on. We should be focusing on the policy and the issues,” Vance told moderator Kristen Welker.
