Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark had a stellar season and will likely win the WNBA Rookie of the Year award after setting numerous records in the first season of her professional career.

On Sunday, the WNBA announced its MVP for the 2024 season. Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson was unanimously named MVP – only the second time in WNBA history that this has happened. Clark’s name was on the list of those receiving votes for the award.

First place gets ten points, second place gets seven points, third place gets five points, fourth place gets three points and fifth place gets one point.

Clark finished fourth in the WNBA MVP voting, receiving a total of 130 points. She received six third-place votes, 26 fourth-place votes and 22 fifth-place votes. Wilson received 670 points for all 67 first-place votes.

Clark wasn’t the only rookie to receive points in the MVP voting. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese received a vote for fourth place.

The former Iowa star finished ahead of Reese, Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner of the Connecticut Sun, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones of the New York Liberty, Nneka Ogwumike of the Seattle Storm, Kahleah Copper of the Phoenix Mercury, her Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell, Dearica Hamby of the Los Angeles Sparks and Kayla McBride of the Minnesota Lynx.

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. The Fever star led the league in assists per game and had the most assists in a single season (337). And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of her freshman season.
