Firearms stolen from two Florence stores; ,000 offered for information

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Louisville Field Division is offering up to $10,000 for information related to the break-ins at two gun stores in northern Kentucky last weekend, according to a press release.

On Saturday, around 4:30 a.m., a car forced its way through the front door of Triggers Firearms at 151 Lloyd Avenue in Florence. Six people stole “multiple firearms” before driving away in a sedan.

On Sunday, around 3:30 a.m., a car forced its way through the wall of Range USA, 7551 Mall Road in Florence, the news release said. Six people stole “a large number of firearms” before driving away in a sedan.

The ATF Louisville Field Division is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person(s) responsible for the break-ins, the press release said.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry trade association, will donate the same reward as the bureau as part of a larger national cooperative initiative.

Authorities are asking the public to report information about the crime by calling 888-283-8477 or emailing [email protected].

They also said that when seeking a reward, one should provide as many details and contact information as possible.

In order for a person to receive the reward, the information must lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the break-in, the press release continues.

Anonymous tips can be sent via the app “reportit®” and specify the ATF Louisville Field Division as the location, the press release states. The app is available in the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store and at www.reportit.com.

The police department and the Florence police are jointly investigating the break-ins.
