Five Ravens rookies among the inactives against the Chiefs

Among the Ravens’ players not playing in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs are five rookies.

In Baltimore are:

Brade, a Maryland native, was the headliner of the Ravens’ roster cuts, but fellow rookie Sanoussi Kane was given the nod to make his professional debut at Arrowhead Stadium.

Baltimore has five wide receivers, but Walker, a fourth-round pick, is not one of them. Walker was injured during training camp, as was fellow rookie Tampa fourth-round pick.

Samac is Tyler Linderbaum’s backup, but experienced Patrick Mekari and others can step in if needed. Linderbaum has been a full participant in practice all week after suffering a neck injury in training camp.

Third-round outside linebacker Adisa Isaac (hamstring) was ruled out before the game.

Another rookie, fifth-round running back Rasheen Ali, was placed on the injured list hours before the game when veteran John Kelly was called up from the practice squad. Ali was already questionable due to a neck injury.

The Ravens rookies who will face the Chiefs are first-round cornerback Nate Wiggins, second-round right tackle Roger Rosengarten and Kane.

Linebacker Josh Ross was added to the 53-man roster and veteran cornerback Ka’dar Hollman was promoted from the practice squad.

With Urban out, the Ravens will have four defensive players: Nnamdi Madubuike, Michael Pierce, Travis Jones and Broderick Washington.
