We would like to express our thanks to you!

Hello everyone!

This is your radio friend Wes Nessman. We’ve had a great journey together. I’ve been a part of KFMX for about 38-39 of the 43 years. I was there for the first FMX Birthday Bash, and now we’re in our first year, as far as I know, where we didn’t even have a Birthday Bash (sorry, I just couldn’t find the right band). I’ve been to shows with most of you and had beers with many of you. I hope when we’ve met, I was nice and not in my usual “heads down, gotta go somewhere” mode. The point is, neither I nor anyone else at this station has ever forgotten that you, the people, gave us this opportunity to rock.

The victory

I am very proud to announce that you have again voted KFMX the number one station in Lubbock. I can’t go into details because that’s part of the process, but we are the most listened to radio station in Lubbock. Who would have thought, right? Shouldn’t country or pop be more popular here? Who knows, but they’re not. I think we’ve built a group of the best listeners in the world and that group has stuck together through better and worse.

Dominant

It was an overwhelming victory. Not only are we #1 overall, but the RockShow, Renee Raven and even the weekends were all #1. We dominated seven days a week! None of this would have been possible without you and your advocacy for your favorite radio station.

The way to the future

We will continue to bring you the best rock and the best shows we can. I firmly believe that our radio station’s talent base is too big for the Lubbock market, but we love it here and we’re staying. We’ve found other ways to grow: The RockShow is now in five markets and Renee Raven is now a featured weekend talent on well over a dozen stations across America. We’ve found ways to make Lubbock the center of the action and we’re damn proud of that.
