COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jim Harbaugh may be a coach in the NFL now, but that doesn’t mean his campaign in the NCAA is over.
In a segment on ESPN earlier this week, Harbaugh explained to Kris Rhim exactly what he thinks about the NCAA.
“They’ve been withholding money from players for decades. Now they’ve been hit with a $2.7 billion lawsuit,” Harbaugh told ESPN. “They have no credibility. That’s the truth.”
Harbaugh and Michigan are at the center of the NCAA’s investigation into the sign-stealing case involving former team employee Connor Stalions. Harbaugh also faces a four-year penalty from the NCAA for an investigation into recruiting violations in 2021. The penalty runs through August 2028 and includes a one-year ban should he return to the sport before then.
This is not the first time Harbaugh has taken a stand against the NCAA and advocated for player payments. Back in January, he noted that college sports are “cut from the same cloth.”
The NCAA and Harbaugh are not done yet, and it is clear that he will not give in anytime soon.
