Former Pittsburgh Steelers WR shines in the first half against his former team

ATLANTA– The Pittsburgh Steelers trail the Atlanta Falcons 10-9 at halftime, and the performance of former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud is a major reason why. McCloud, the team’s kick returner, is not only their starting slot wide receiver, but he is also the team’s best receiver at halftime, catching three passes for 45 yards, all on the Falcons’ final drive of the first half.

He caught a big pass over the middle of the defense to get the drive going. Later in the drive, McCloud made another big play over the middle of the field. He broke out in 2021 as a receiver for the Steelers. McCloud later left the team and went to the San Francisco 49ers, where he was their main returner and gadget player.

He signed with the Falcons this offseason with the promise that he would spend even more time on offense, so it seems that’s where the Falcons want to use McCloud, especially after the injury to wide receiver Rondale Moore, who they acquired from the Atlanta Falcons. Now, McCloud looks like a permanent fixture in the Falcons’ wide receiver room and should be a complementary weapon.
