We all know that the future of Fortnite will revolve heavily around Disney, as the company has invested over a billion dollars in the video game and plans to release a massive Disney world in Fortnite. But it seems like Disney is also planning some unique monetization strategies by implementing a Disney shop in Fortnite.

And yes, this will be separate from the normal item shop.

Fortnite’s item shop has evolved over time. We went from a tiny UI that showed a few skins each week to a wealth of cosmetic items for players to purchase. Change is inevitable and Fortnite has only evolved.

But now that Disney is in the game, Fortnite is planning to add a full Disney shop alongside the regular item shop. This has all been reported by various leakers, including Hypex, who for almost always to be precise.

The Disney D23 Expo is happening tonight and there are some rumors about Fortnite and Marvel. It is already believed that any Disney x Fortnite integrations will be announced.

So how will this change the item shop?

Sure, the item shop will change a bit in Fortnite. That means there will no longer be Marvel, Pirates of the Caribbean, and other Disney characters in it. Those characters will be reserved for the new Disney shop. But will the Disney shop have every Disney character that has ever appeared in Fortnite? Or will that change with each update?

That is not yet known. However, Fortnite has a whole host of Marvel skins and other Disney characters in the game. It is more than likely that the new shop will present certain skins every week.

This also means there might be more room for other skins in the regular item shop. Who knows, maybe your favorite Fortnite skin will appear a little more often.
