The news was announced by Epic Games on X: “Downtime for v31.10 begins at 4am ET, with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”

For UK fans, this means Fortnite will be taken completely offline at 9:00am (BST), while matchmaking will be disabled at 8:30am (UK time).

If you really want to experience as much Fortnite action as possible, make sure you are in a game before 8:30am (BST) at the latest.

Epic has not announced exactly when the downtime will end, but reports suggest that maintenance will last longer than usual this week.

Fortnite is expected to be offline for approximately 5 hours, meaning Fortnite, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing and the Fortnite Festival will be unavailable until 2pm BST.

One benefit is that fans can download and install the update during the downtime, meaning you’ll be good to go once the servers are back online.

New content includes the release of the Doctor Doom seasonal bonus skin and challenges.

Likewise, the Chapter 5 Season 4 Super Skins will be added to the game, which is good news for anyone who has a fully utilized Battle Pass.

Fans can also look forward to Shuri’s Claws, one of this season’s new mythical items, being added to the game and coming to the island.

The Black Cat skin will be added to the Item Shop alongside other yet-to-be-announced skins and items.

Finally, Epic Games will make various gameplay optimizations and bug fixes as part of the 31.10 update.
