The tropical torment, Francine, marched with the marts to the coast of Texas, in the United States, hoping to transform it into Huracan after leaving the Luisiana, after preventive evacuations were carried out in various places.
“Francine has already spent the night travelling through the Gulf of Mexico. It is awaiting transmission to Huracan by evening or night at the latest,” the Centro Nacional de Huracanes (NHC) reported in its last report at 18:00 GMT. The storm is now gaining momentum, with winds of 100 km/h.
Due to meteorological conditions, the route, which occasionally passes through the coastal regions of Texas, requires crossing a Category 1 hurricane – and a level 5 – with speeds of up to 119 km/h until March 1. I will visit the Costas de Luisiana at the latest in the evening or at dawn.
The NHC has issued hurricane warnings for the Louisiana coast and coastal cities, for some local locations in Texas, and for parts of Mississippi and Alabama.
Jurisdictions associated with municipalities in the late afternoon of Luisiana are initiating mandatory evacuations, preventive measures and actions in the protected areas. Luisiana Governor Jeff Landry also announced this on Tuesday at a conference on the installation of reception shelters in nearby towns.
In the aftermath, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell said the city was on the road to tornado preparedness: “All residents and our visitors must take every precaution and prepare for the escape, the destruction of the city and the activity of tornadoes.”
Part of the zone affected by Francine was hit by the devastating Hurricanes Katrina (2005) and Ida (2021). Francine is the sexto fan for the 2024 period in the Atlantic, which occurred in June and November.

According to the United States Oceania and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA), this year’s hurricane season on the Atlantic has been restless, and the increased sea temperature increased the intensity of these windows. They are waiting for 25 tormentas, the last 13 Huracan series.
