Autumn expansion

Frontier Airlines, one of the leading ultra-low-cost carriers in the USA, has announced a further route expansion. Starting in October and November, Frontier will offer 11 new routes to 15 airports. The cities with additional service include Atlanta, Austin and Hollywood.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport will receive a new service starting October 12, bringing Frontier’s total to 20 services at the airport. This comes shortly after the airline announced it would establish a crew base at CVG. The new service will be offered once a week to Sarasota, and introductory fares start at $29.

Josh Fly, Vice President of Network and Operations Design, said:

“Cincinnati has become a home for us as the community has grown, and we are excited to offer an affordable and convenient trip to sunny Sarasota just in time for the colder months.”

Candace McGraw, CEO of CVG, said:

“We are pleased that local travelers now have another option to get from CVG to Florida’s Gulf Coast as this area continues to grow in popularity in our region.”

Atlanta

Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is getting three new routes, one in October and the other two in November. First, Frontier will launch three times weekly service to Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) on October 11. To celebrate the new route, the City of Austin issued its own announcement, and AUS’ CEO said:

It’s fantastic to see our partners at Frontier expanding their presence at AUS with the addition of nonstop service to Atlanta, Georgia. We know many of our travelers will benefit from this new way to travel to ATL. We are very grateful to Frontier for their support and their presence as one of three ultra-low-cost carriers in our market is incredibly important to us as we strive to provide airlines with competitive and affordable options for AUS customers.”

In November, the two new routes will serve United Airlines’ hubs in Newark and Dulles. Frontier will compete with both United and Delta Air Lines, which already connect the cities. Service to Newark Liberty International Airport will begin on November 4, while service to Dulles International Airport (IAD) will begin ten days later. Both routes will operate daily, and fares start at $19 each way.

Dulles (Washington)

Frontier stopped serving Dulles in 2021, but has continued operations at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). As mentioned above, service from Atlanta will begin on November 14. However, the airline is also launching a second service from Dulles to Orlando International Airport (MCO), which will operate four times weekly.
