Furman is once again among the Princeton Review’s “Best 390 Colleges.”

This year, Furman also made the “Best South” list, which includes public and private universities in the South, and the “Green Campus” list of environmentally conscious schools. The rankings are based on student surveys conducted during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Furman received a record number of applications this year: 10,813 high school students applied for a Paladin position; 4,645 were admitted and 616 matriculated. This year’s acceptance rate of 42.96% is lower than the 53% reported for last year in the Princeton Review.

Student responses to the survey were positive for the faculty. One student said the faculty “love to teach and instill a passion for growth, research, and engagement.” Another said, “The overwhelming majority of Furman’s professors are experts in their fields and care deeply about helping students succeed.”

One respondent described Furman students as a “community of open-minded people” who are “willing to help each other.”
