Gas prices

The average price of a gallon of gasoline is falling in the United States, while electricity prices are holding steady. According to AAA figures, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in San Luis Obispo County fell five cents last week, to $4.82.
In California, the average price per gallon of gasoline fell three cents to $4.60 last week. Nationwide, gasoline prices fell four cents to $3.50 per gallon.
“As Tropical Storm Debby moves along the I-95 corridor and enters the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the threat to Gulf Coast oil production and refining has passed,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesman. “But tensions in the Middle East and some economic uncertainty abroad could mitigate a decline in oil prices.”
SLO County currently has the 15th highest gas price list in the state. Mono County, which has the highest average price, has $5.98 per gallon of regular gasoline this week. Yuba County has the lowest average prices at $4.29 per gallon.
