Gas prices in the Gulf Coast region have fallen since last week: Here you can see how much

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, regional gasoline prices fell for the second consecutive day on Monday, averaging $3.00 per gallon of regular gasoline, compared to the previous week’s price of $3.00 per gallon.

The average fuel price in the Gulf Coast region has fallen by about 5 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gasoline prices across the region last year were as low as $2.55 on December 18, 2023, and as high as $3.46 on August 21, 2023.

A year ago, the average price of gasoline in the Gulf Coast region was $3.46 per gallon, 13 percent higher.

The average price of gasoline in the United States last week was $3.38, putting prices in the Gulf Coast region about 11.4 percent below the national average. The average national price of gasoline is down from last week’s average of $3.41 per gallon.

Prices for the Gulf Coast states, as determined by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, include Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas.
