Gas prices in Tarrant County are among the highest in Texas, but the list price is still below the national average of $3.41, according to AAA.
Texas as a whole is also below the national average, with an average of $3.02 per gallon. Tarrant County’s current average is $3.11, lower than a year ago when it was $3.55.
According to statistics from the US Energy Information Administration, gas prices have been falling since 2022. In June 2022, average prices were as low as $4.64 due to the Russia-Ukraine war, which pushed up oil and gas prices. Since then, prices have not broken this record, and in Texas they fell to as low as $3.06 in June 2024.
Despite the high average price in Tarrant County, prices in Fort Worth are still under $3. According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas you can currently get in Fort Worth is $2.85 at the Destiny station at 4400 Southwest Blvd.
According to AAA, the current average price for regular gasoline in Fort Worth is $3.11. For medium-grade gasoline, the average price is $3.49, for premium gasoline, the average price is $3.82, and for diesel, the average price is $3.19.
