Gasoline prices in South Carolina rise, still cheaper than in July at .03 per gallon

Gas prices rose across South Carolina last week, averaging $3.03 per gallon, according to a GasBuddy survey of 3,028 gas stations across the Palmetto State.

Even with the 0.7 cent increase, prices in South Carolina are 14.3 cents per gallon lower than in July and 39.0 cents lower than a year ago. The national diesel price is down 2.6 cents, averaging $3.69 per gallon, the lowest in over 940 days.

According to GasBuddy’s price reports, the cheapest gas station in South Carolina on Sunday cost $2.72 per gallon. The most expensive gas station cost $3.64 per gallon, a difference of 92.0 cents.

Nationally, the average price continues to drop. Gas prices fell 4.2 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $3.37 per gallon on Monday. The national average is also down 11.4 cents from July and 47.8 cents from a year ago, according to data from GasBuddy, which is compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports from over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
