In 2023, the Georgia Tech football team finished with a win and earned a bowl game berth after failing to achieve either goal in the previous four seasons. And the Yellow Jackets won by defeating UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl, giving the program a much-needed victory.

Brent Key enters his second full season as head coach after succeeding Geoff Collins midway through the 2022 season. Key can draw on the experience of quarterback Haynes King, who rushed for 2,842 yards and 27 touchdowns last year.

While there is still a lot of work to be done, fans have good reasons to believe the Yellow Jackets are a team to keep an eye on in a new era of college football.

Andy Demetra, who joined the Georgia Tech Sports Network in 2016, is the voice of the Yellow Jackets. He is the live commentator for football and men’s basketball. He is occasionally the live commentator for women’s basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball broadcasts on ACC Network Extra.

Joe Hamilton is the network’s co-commentator. Hamilton rose to legend status as the Yellow Jackets’ quarterback in 1999 and finished second for the Heisman Trophy behind Wisconsin running back Ron Dayne.
