Get $40 one-way with Spirit’s Fall Fare Offer – through tomorrow

Get one-way with Spirit’s Fall Fare Offer – through tomorrow

Budget airline Spirit Airlines is offering plenty of fall deals as part of its latest sale, with one-way flights starting at just $40.

“We’ve simply taken the decision-making out of travel,” the airline wrote on its website about the campaign. “You’re welcome. Over 80 destinations, over 80 reasons to travel, and an easy way to save money.”

This sale, which ends tomorrow, August 22, at 11:59 p.m. ET, offers discounted flights on Spirit’s website that do not require a promo code. These discounted fares are available on a first-come, first-served basis between September 4 and November 20, with Friday and Sunday travel specifically excluded.

To receive the discounted prices, tickets must be purchased at least seven days in advance. Travel + Leisure I found plenty of bookable one-way tickets for $40 on Spirit’s nonstop routes for the next few months:

  • Atlanta (ATL) to Philadelphia (PHL), Tampa (TPA) and Dallas (DFW)
  • Boston (BOS) to Charleston (CHS), Detroit (DTW) and Nashville (BNA)
  • Burbank (BUR) to Las Vegas (LAS) and Oakland (OAK)
  • Charlotte (CLT) to Newark (EWR), New York (LGA) and Orlando (MCO)
  • Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to San Antonio (SAT), Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Pensacola (PNS)
  • Las Vegas (LAS) to Portland (PDX), Phoenix (PHX) and San Diego (SAN)

Flying with budget airlines like Spirit Airlines will look a little different in the future as they look to generate more revenue beyond ticket sales. However, these limited-time special flights are part of Spirit’s recently introduced “Go” ticket option, which only includes one free personal item.

However, travelers can upgrade to Spirit’s bundled fare classes to get additional perks like carry-on bags, seat selection and even Wi-Fi. Regardless of the fare class chosen, Spirit has also introduced the ability to change or cancel flights without fees. Previously, changing a Spirit flight could result in fees of over $100 – often more than the original ticket price.
