New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers had his breakthrough against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, making NFL history before halftime.

Nabers caught a touchdown on a spinning shot with 1:44 left in the first half and scored his second touchdown of the game with 11 seconds left. The Giants went into the locker room with a 21-7 lead over the Browns.

With his second touchdown, Nabers became the youngest wide receiver in NFL history to score two receiving touchdowns in a single game. Nabers is 21 years and 56 days old. Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Mike Evans first set the record in 2014 at 21 years and 73 days.

Nabers had six catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns after the first two quarters of the game.

The 2024 first-round pick had 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown in the Giants’ three-point loss to the Washington Commanders, but he had one crucial drop in the game that he took the blame for.

Nabers said he had already made this crucial move before the game.

“It just gives me confidence,” he told reporters. “It shows that I can go out here and compete. So I just go out there and try to do the same thing every week.”
