Good Fortune Market brings quality food to the community

Good Fortune Market brings quality food to the community

Goodfortune Market aims to provide easy access to fresh produce directly from the producer in Savannah.

“I’ve seen firsthand that there are no convenient options to buy fresh, quality food in this area,” said Becca Goossen, owner of Goodfortune. “And worse, there are very few places to buy local food in the greater Savannah area.”

Located on Waters Avenue near Daffin Park, Goodfortune Market offers fruits, vegetables and other staples.

Goossen strives to build personal relationships with customers to understand and stock their desired products.

“Our small neighborhood market can better meet the needs of community members by fostering closer relationships with more food providers,” Goossen said. “It’s a small grocery store, so the experience is quite personal.”

In addition, pre-made sandwiches, baked goods and coffee are also offered, providing further convenience for the neighborhood.

It is not only the connection that is important to Goossen, but also the tradition.

The same building where Goodfortune is located used to house another small grocery store called DeLoach Grocery. Similar to Goossen, the owners also lived in the same neighborhood.

“This grocery store is really just a steward of the legacy of quality access to food that this neighborhood was always meant to have,” she said.

You can stop by Goodfortune Market Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
