Rochester, NY — Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) has been nominated for a USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Award as the nation’s best small airport.

Rochester Airport is one of 20 small airports across the country that were nominated.

In a statement released Wednesday, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said, “Once again, our home airport is being recognized for this national competition because of its commitment to providing passengers with the highest quality experience in the industry. Awards like this can help us attract new airlines and attractive travel destinations, so I encourage everyone in our community to show their support and help ROC Airport once again receive this prestigious award.”

Other nominated airports include Buffalo-Niagara International Airport (BUF), Key West International Airport (EYW) and Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The top 10 will be selected through an online poll that is open until September 23rd.

In 2023, more than 2.6 million people traveled through Rochester Airport, the most in 15 years.

The airport was voted the tenth best small airport by USA Today.
