A small but growing business called The Local Branch is enjoying its first summer in Saratoga Springs.

The company, which specializes in high-quality, handmade leather goods, was founded in 2009 by Mackenzie and Blaine Vossler.

The couple recently celebrated the opening of the Spa City store, which now operates in addition to the original location.

“We are a small artisan brand. The local branch makes all of our leather goods ourselves,” said Mackenzie Vossler.

The company started on the road, in a small workshop in an Airstream – before opening its first retail store in the Finger Lakes in 2018.

The store is located at 447 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, the former location of Saratoga Coffee Traders.
Looking to the future, the owners are excited to see what it brings.

“We have thought about opening more stores, but I think for now we will focus on our two locations and expand into wholesale and bulk orders,” said Mackenzie Vossler.
