Lando Norris took a commanding victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, leading from the first lap and finishing the race a whopping 20 seconds ahead of his championship rival Max Verstappen and teammate Oscar Piastri.

For the first time, Norris was able to maintain his lead on pole position on lap 1 and quickly built a dominant lead over the Red Bull driver, but at the last second he lost the bonus point for the fastest lap to Daniel Ricciardo.

It was a clean race, with the number of laps without a safety car increasing to nine. However, the race winner had a few near misses, as his front wing was slightly damaged and he clipped the wall several times.

Piastri improved from P5 in qualifying to P5 and finished ahead of George Russell on the final step of the podium, while Lewis Hamilton, who had to endure a long stint after an early pit stop, was overtaken by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the closing stages and finished in P5.

After a difficult qualifying session in which he started at the bottom of the top 10, Carlos Sainz had worked his way up to 7th place by the time the chequered flag fell, albeit with a clear gap to his Monegasque teammate.

The top 10 was completed by Fernando Alonso and Nico Hülkenberg, who both put in an impressive performance as they held off Sergio Perez, who took the final point in Singapore.

Meanwhile, Alex Albon retired from the race, presumably due to a problem with the power unit, while his Williams colleague Franco Colapinto made a remarkable overtaking maneuver on the first lap, but ultimately had to settle for eleventh place.
